The Alpentherme is an official rehabilitation center for the Austrian Ski Federation
Since May 2022, the Alpentherme, along with the adjoining Alpentherme Gastein Health Center, has been an official rehabilitation center for the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV). With our extensive expertise in the fields of training and post-injury recovery, we provide elite ÖSV athletes with optimal conditions for fast and targeted rehabilitation.
In close coordination with Rehabilitation Center Director Andreas Hochwimmer, athletes work with our physiotherapists, sports scientists, and medical professionals on their personal comeback.
The History of the ÖSV Rehabilitation Center in Gastein
The idea of establishing a rehabilitation center for the ÖSV in Gastein evolved from the long-standing collaboration between our health center and the Austrian Ski Federation, one which has actually existed for decades. In May 2022, this cooperation was officially cemented, and since then, many top athletes have used our facility to regain their former strength subsequent to injuries or surgical procedures.

In addition to our comprehensive therapy offerings, athletes have access to state-of-the-art technology, including the AlterG® anti-gravity treadmill, radial and focused shockwave therapy, and IHHT (Interval Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Training). Our cryotherapy chamber, with temperatures as low as -110°C, also supports fast and effective recovery.

Athletes also benefit from the regenerative properties of our thermal water, the sauna area at Alpentherme, relaxation zones, and the ultramodern fitness center, our Sports World, which is used for conditioning training.

Rehab stays for ÖSV athletes are customized to their individual needs. The duration of the stay and the therapy plan depend on the type and severity of the injury. Regular coordination between our team and the rehabilitation center director is essential for the targeted and gentle restoration of physical performance, helping athletes return to competition mode as quickly as possible.
